since ＆ for

"since" 和 "for" 其用法与时间有关，不同之处在于：1、since 比如Mondy，应该和时间点一起使用。、January 和 2009；2、for 就是和时间段一起使用，比如， 30 minutes、6 months 和 10 years。3、"for" 可用于所有时态， "since" 一般用于完成时。

例:① He jogs for 1 hour everyday.这句话中 "for" 后面跟着的就是一段时间。② He's been jogging since 7 am.这句话中 "since" 后面跟着一个时间点。

fewer ＆less

"fewer" 和 "less" 应用名词类型是完全相反的：1、"fewer" 比如bookss，适用于可数名词、cars、people 或是 cups.2、"less" 比如lovee，适用于不可数的名词。、water、electricity 或是 information.

例:

① This parking lot is too crowded. I wish there were fewer cars.语句中的 car 这是一个可数的名词，所以前面用的是 "fewer" 装饰。② I wish you would turn off the lights, so we could use less electricity.这儿的 electricity 这是一个不可数的名词，因此使用 "less" 来修饰。

介词by的用法

1、 意思是“在…旁”，“靠近”。Some are singing and dancing under a big tree。Some are drawing by the lake。有些人在树下唱歌。有些人在湖边画画。

2、意思是“不迟”，“到…时间到了”。Your son will be all right by supper time。晚饭前你儿子会好起来的。How many English songs had you learned by the end of last term？你上学期末学了多少首英语歌曲？

3、表示方法、方法，可以翻译成“靠”、“用”、“凭着”、“通过”、乘坐等等。The monkey was hanging from the tree by his tail and laughing。猴子用尾巴挂在树上哈哈大笑。The boy’s father was so thankful that he taught Edison how to send messages by railway telegraph。小孩的父亲非常感激，所以他教爱迪生如何通过铁路电报传达信息。

4、意思是“逐一”、“逐批”。One by one they went past the table in the dark。她们必须在黑暗中一个接一个地经过这张桌子。

5、表示“根据”，“按照”的意思。What time is it by your watch？您的手表是什么时候？

6、和take ， 动词连用，如hold，表示接触人体的某一部分。I took him by the hand。我握住了他的手。

7、在被动句中使用，表示主体，经常被翻译成“被”、“由”等。English is spoken by many people。很多人说英语。

动名词（doing）

动词相当于名词

可以做主语、宾语、表语、定语等。

1、作主语

Fighting broke out between the South and the North。南部和北方开战了。2、Would作宾语 you mind turning down your radio a little， please？请问您是否在意调小一点收音机的声音？3、Babysister作为表语s job is washing，cooking and taking care of the children。保姆的工作是洗衣服，做饭，照顾孩子。4、做定语a washing machine 一台洗衣机
