在选择题中，Little和few以及它们各自不同的变化方式是一个经常出现的考点。

Little and Few

Little和few都是数量词，意思是“很少”。而且这两个词都有负面意义，意思是“没有预期的那么多”。这两个词的区别在于:

little 不可数名词

I’ve got little money left in my account.

few 可以数一数名词复数

Ben has few friends in London.

A Little and A Few

不同于little和few的含义，a little和 a few意味着“一些”。

同样：

a little 不可数名词

He has a little money left.

a few 可以数一数名词复数

He has a few dollars left.

a little和 a few可作为代词单独使用(在所指代词明显的前提下)：

After that, she began to tell them a little about her life in Scotland.

Don’t take all the strawberries. Just have a few.

另外，冠词（a/an, the），指示词（this, that），所有格（my, your）和代词（him, them）前可以用a little of / a few of 去装饰：

Put the flour into a bowl, blend with a little of the milk.

A few of his films were seen abroad.

Less and Fewer

Less是little的比较级别，fewer是few的比较级别，同样：

Less 不可数名词

Jeff drinks less alcohol than John.

Fewer 可以数一数名词复数

I have fewer pairs of shoes than I used to have.
