Little and Few

Little和few它们都是量词，意思是很少。而且，这两个词都有负面意义，意思是没有想象或期望那么多。这两个词的区别在于:

little 不可数名词

I’ve got little money left in my account.

few 可数名词复数

Ben has few friends in London.

A Little and A Few

与little和few不同的意思，a little和 a few意思是一些。

同样：

a little 不可数名词

He has a little money left.

a few 可数名词复数

He has a few dollars left.

a little和 a few可以单独用作代词(在所指词汇明显的前提下)：

After that, she began to tell them a little about her life in Scotland.

Don’t take all the strawberries. Just have a few.

另外，冠词（a/an, the），指示词（this, that），所有格（my, your）和代词（him, them）前能使用a little of / a few of 去装饰：

Put the flour into a bowl, blend with a little of the milk.

A few of his films were seen abroad.

Less and Fewer

Less是little的比较级，fewer是few比较级，相同：

Less 不可数名词

Jeff drinks less alcohol than John.

Fewer 可数名词复数

I have fewer pairs of shoes than I used to have.
